The Global Fund provides general program and operating support grants to womens organizations and individuals focused on advancing the human rights of women and girls. grants range from $500 to an annual funding of $20,000. The majority of the funding remains devoted to general grants supporting universal issues such as reproductive health and choice, improved access to media and communications, the advancement of women in positions of elected leadership, the rights of sexual minorities, and the prevention of violence against women and children; however, there are grants that support special projects and initiatives. Funding is on an international basis.
