$20,000 to Become a Teacher

The Transition to Teaching program provides 5-year grants to support efforts to recruit, train, and place individuals in teaching positions and to support them during their first years in the classroom. This program, which strives to ease the shortage of qualified teachers in many of our nation’s schools, is seeking mid-career professionals with substantial career experience, as well as recent college graduates. Grants will be awarded to State educational agencies, high-need local educational agencies, and partnership agencies with for-profit or non-profit organizations.
