If your ancestors were the some of the first people in our country, the Indian and Native American Program may be able to help you with valuable job skills. The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) provides help to Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians who are economically disadvantaged, unemployed, and underemployed.  grants are distributed to organizations at a local level to provide the best quality of service to its customers. The goal of the program is to expand the occupational, academic, and literacy skills of Indians and Native Americans while enhancing their job prospects. The Workforce Investment Act also authorizes funds to provide employment and training programs for Indian youth on reservations.
