Financial Assistance for Heart Surgery

The Larry King Cardiac Foundation (LKCF) was established in 1988 to provide funding for life-saving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or inadequate insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need. The Foundation works in conjunction with hospitals throughout the nation to ensure that such patients receive proper medical attention. Doctors performing these surgeries do so at cost. Hospitals are compensated only for the materials used. Eligible patients must meet the following minimum criteria: US citizens or have a legal right to be in the US; do not have financial resources to pay for the procedures themselves; and be free of any criminal conviction. The Foundation pays for cardiac-related procedures that are: already performed and approved by us in advance; and that are performed in one of our affiliate care centers with one of our doctors. Funds are sent directly to the hospital for reimbursement, not to the individual.
