Foreign Travel for Internships & Career Training

CDS International administers international practical training programs that stimulate the exchange of knowledge and technological skills and and interculturally-competent contribute to the development of a highly-trained workforce. The organization provides several programs that allow for foreign travel as well as training. The Career Training Programs are administered with CDS partners in other countries (Austria, Canada, Germany, Japan,
Korea, Singapore and Switzerland) and enable young professionals to complete up to 18 months of on-the-job training in a business, engineering, hotel, or technical field. The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals program provides 12-month work-study program for 60 Americans in Germany, and 100 Germans in the U.S., in an agricultural, business, technical, or vocational field. The International Internship Programs provides 3- to 18-month internship placement programs (paid and unpaid) in Argentina, Ecuador, Germany, Switzerland or Turkey for American college students, recent graduates and young professionals between the ages of 20 and 30 in a variety of business, engineering, or technical fields. The Professional Development Program enables individuals (21-35 years old) from foreign countries to obtain authorization for practical training of 3-18 months in a business, engineering, hotel, or technical field. There may be program fees associated with hese programs. CDS does offer a scholarship fund to support the participants in training abroad which includes a modest stipend and intensive one-month language course.
