The Job Opportunities for Low Income Individuals (JOLI) program can turn any good idea into a money making powerhouse, and it won’t cost you a cent. Under the JOLI program, grants are awarded each year to non-profit organizations that, in turn, work to create permanent jobs for people who are interested in running their own successful small businesses. As a collaborative partnership, the JOLI projects bring together community support services to lend a hand to those who want to climb that tough ladder of success. For federal information on grants in your area, contact the federal JOLI office at the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Community Services, 370 L?Enfant Promenade, SW, Fifth Floor, Washington, DC 20447; 202-401-5483; http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ocs/dcdp/joli/index.html. They have a complete list.
