The Malone Family Foundation offers the Malone Scholars Program. Malone Scholars are top-level students chosen by one of several private secondary schools to receive scholarships that are funded through Malone Family Foundation scholarship endowments. Each year three additional independent secondary schools are selected for endowment by the Foundation on the basis of their academic caliber; the quality of their staff; excellent accommodations for gifted and talented students; strong AP and enrichment programs; attention to the individual student’s needs, interests and talents; financial strength and stability; a commitment to financial aid; and an economically, culturally, ethnically, and socially diverse population. Once endowed, the schools are empowered to perpetually fund scholarships to motivated top students based on merit and financial need. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals; instead, the staff researches schools best able to accommodate extraordinarily talented students until finalists are invited to submit proposals. The Foundation does, however, receive and accept profiles of excellent independent schools requesting consideration during the annual process.
