We all depend on the fresh fruits and vegetables in our grocery stores and we thank seasonal farmworkers for picking them. The work however does not provide steady income throughout the year for the workers and their families and many migrants and seasonal workers become unemployed. The National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) assists migrants and other seasonally employed farmworkers and their families, achieve economic self-sufficiency through job training and other related services that address their employment related needs. Services available include skills assessment, basic education, job search, on-the-job training and other related assistance. The Migrants and Seasonal Farmworkers program also has a program to help farmworker youth ages 14 through 21.
