You can help commemorate the honor of a deceased veteran by requesting a Presidential Memorial Certificate, an engraved paper certificate expressing the nation’s recognition of the veteran’s service. The veteran’s name is inscribed and the certificate is signed by the current president. Eligible recipients include next of kin, loved ones and friends. More than one certificate may be issued. To apply, you must submit copies of the veteran’s discharge and death certificate. You can request the Presidential Memorial Certificate by mail or in person at any regional office.
